Convert captured videos for any media centre
MCEBuddy is an automated service for Windows Media Center XP, Vista and Vista 64 that converts the Media Center native video format (DVR-MS) to a user-configurable file format (WMV, DivX or H.264).
Before you start, you'll have to be sure that you have .Net framework 2.0 installed which you can do automatically using Windows Update. If you want to convert to formats other than WMV, intend to use H.264 or DivX format, you will need to download FFDShow for 32 bit systems or K-Lite 64 for 64 bit and install it. Note that if you have alternative codec packs, there is no guarantee from the developers it will work but the majority do. The advantage of this conversion process is that it it can save you a hell of a lot of disk space as you can save the files on an external drive. In addition, you can watch the video on the player or in the format of your choice. Another additional bonus is that MCEBuddy can remove advertisements automatically so no more annoying interruptions to your favourite programmes.
